UNICEF estimates that Afghan girls have lost three billion hours of schooling.

The United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF has called for the immediate repeal of the ban on educating Afghan girls beyond the sixth grade by the Taliban in its thousandth day.

In a report released on Friday, June 13, UNICEF estimated that more than one million Afghan girls have been deprived of continuing their education due to the Taliban’s decision.
