The University of Tehran stated regarding the suspension of Mojtaba Mojtahedi’s salary that he had embarked on a research trip without obtaining the university’s approval.

Following the publication of a letter by Mojtaba Mojtahedi, a faculty member of the Faculty of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at the Faculty of Science, concerning the suspension of his salary and his travel ban, the University of Tehran issued a response.

Dr. Mojtahedi had stated in a post on his Instagram that due to his opposition to forcing students to attend classes during the ongoing protests, he had been subjected to implicit threats from some university officials. He linked the suspension of his salary and his travel ban to these statements.

The Islamic Association of Students of the Faculty of Science also republished this post and stated that it condemns the injustice done to this university professor and demands the restoration of his rights, urging other students, professors, and staff of the Faculty of Science not to remain silent about this injustice.
