Unprecedented Disruption in Internet Services

Hundreds of websites and applications have gone offline due to disruptions and outages in Amazon Cloud’s computing services.

Users were unable to access many of the world’s popular applications, including Snapchat, Tinder, Canva, Duolingo, and Roblox.

Some of Amazon’s own services, such as Alexa and Ring, as well as banking and cryptocurrency services like Halifax and Lloyds, have also been affected.

The website Down Detector, which monitors internet disruptions, reported that more than 500 companies faced issues and received over four million global reports in the past few hours, which is more than double the average.

Normally, 1.8 million reports are received in a week.
