Unprecedented heat in Iran leads to closure of offices and banks

The extreme temperature increase in Iran has resulted in widespread closure of offices and banks on the third and fourth days of August. Tehran province experienced its hottest days with offices closing from Thursday afternoon and a recorded temperature of 43 degrees in Varamin.

Working hours in East Azerbaijan and Golestan provinces were restricted, and government bank branches in Khuzestan were closed on Friday. Mazandaran and Alborz provinces also reduced their working hours.

Executive offices and banks in Sistan and Baluchestan were completely closed on Thursday after 2 p.m. and on Friday. Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Kermanshah, and Kerman provinces also announced the closure of their offices and banks on Friday.

The temperature increase continues this week and in the future, with a prediction that in the next five days, the temperature in most parts of the country will reach 50 degrees Celsius. Tehran city will also experience its hottest days in the next three days with a temperature of 41 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
