The US ambassador to the UN says Trump has halted attacks on Iran to give diplomacy a chance.

The US ambassador to the UN said Donald Trump has stopped attacks on Iran to give the diplomatic process a chance and to create a basis for continuing discussions.

Michael Waltz, in an interview with Fox News, said the US President has created some space for negotiations but did not provide further details about the nature of these discussions.

Waltz also said that Trump has always preferred a diplomatic solution, but at the same time, he has shown Iran that if they don’t take the negotiations seriously, there will be consequences. He made these remarks after the US halted attacks on Iran following about two weeks of continuous strikes.
