US Calls Araqchi’s Remarks on Washington and Israel’s Role in Iran Protests Delusional

The United States called Araqchi’s statements about the role of Washington and Israel in the Iran protests delusional.

The United States described the statements of Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, in which Israel and Washington were accused of fueling the protests, as delusional.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, referring to Araqchi’s remarks during his visit to Lebanon, said these statements reflect a delusional attempt to divert public attention from the significant challenges the Iranian government faces domestically.

Yesterday, at a press conference in Beirut, Araqchi described the recent protests in Iran as similar to those in Lebanon and claimed both were in response to rising exchange rates. He also alleged that the difference in these protests in Iran is that, according to him, the U.S. and Israel have officially announced their involvement in the unrest and are trying to turn peaceful protests into violence.
