The US sanctioned 27 Iranian airline companies

The US Treasury Department, in the latest round of Iran-related sanctions, added the name of one individual and 35 entities, including 27 Iranian passenger airline companies, to the sanctions list.

Washington claims that these companies and their associated intermediaries have been involved in transferring military equipment and cargo or providing parts and services for Iran’s aviation industry.

Scott Bassett, the US Treasury Secretary, warned that companies cooperating with the sanctioned Iranian airlines will face the risk of sanctions and losing access to the global financial system.
