Mr. Rubio, along with Mike Waltz, the U.S. National Security Advisor, will meet with a high-ranking Ukrainian delegation on Tuesday.
The U.S. Secretary of State expressed optimism to reporters en route to Jeddah regarding the planned Tuesday meeting between American and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, also arrived in Jeddah on Monday and is scheduled to meet with Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
The fate of the Kyiv-Washington agreement on the exploitation of Ukraine’s valuable mines will also be among the topics discussed at the Jeddah meeting.
