Reaction of the US Secretary of State to the intensification of suppression of protesters in Mahabad
Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, has reacted to the attacks by Iranian government security forces against protesters, particularly in Mahabad.
Mr. Blinken wrote on Twitter on Sunday that we are deeply concerned about reports of intensified violence by Iranian officials against protesters, especially in the city of Mahabad.
Mr. Blinken further wrote that the United States will strive to hold those responsible for these acts of violence accountable and emphasized his country’s support for the people of Iran.
