The US State Department spokesperson says the JCPOA has not been on the agenda for several months.

Ned Price, the spokesperson for the US State Department, reiterated on Monday that negotiations over reviving the JCPOA have not been on the department’s agenda for several months, and he is surprised as to why the Iranian government and its Foreign Ministry repeatedly speak of an approaching agreement between Tehran and Washington.

Mr. Price’s remarks refer to the statements made by Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Foreign Minister, who, along with other Iranian officials, has repeatedly mentioned in recent weeks receiving messages from the US through intermediary and neighboring countries, as well as the negotiations over reviving the JCPOA nearing an agreement.
