The US re-lists the Houthis as terrorists

Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, announced today, January 17th, that the White House has re-added the Yemeni Houthis to its terrorist list, and this decision will take effect in 30 days.

This decision is in line with increasing US pressure against this group, which conducts military activities in parts of Yemen.

The Houthis have declared since the Hamas group’s attack on Israel that they will continue attacking ships passing through the Red Sea until Israel’s military operations in Gaza cease.

So far, they have fired dozens of missiles and drones at commercial ships passing through the Red Sea.
