Vahid Hashemian became the head coach of Persepolis

Vahid Hashemian, the former striker of Iran’s national football team and Persepolis club, has been introduced as the new head coach of Persepolis.

After the departure of the Turkish head coach Ismail Kartal and the termination of his contract with Persepolis club, the team faced a major challenge in selecting a new head coach. Ultimately, after reviewing domestic options, Vahid Hashemian was chosen to lead the team in the upcoming season.

Vahid Hashemian, who was once a player for Persepolis, retired from football at the age of 36 while wearing the team’s jersey.

He started his football career with Fath Tehran and Pas teams and then joined Hamburg.

Hashemian played in the Bundesliga for Hamburg, Bochum, Bayern Munich, and Hannover 96. He also played for Iran’s national team in the 2006 World Cup.

Vahid Hashemian began his coaching journey in the lower leagues of Germany and gradually reached bigger teams.

He also worked as an assistant for four years with Iran’s national team under Marc Wilmots and Dragan Skočić.
