The Venezuelan ambassador in Tehran says the CIA has written a scenario to overthrow Venezuela.
The Venezuelan ambassador in Tehran, emphasizing his country’s distrust of the United States, announced that the Maduro government, while emphasizing diplomacy, is also ready to defend itself and has recently shot down several drug-carrying aircraft in air force operations.
José Rafael Silva Aponte, the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in an interview with ISNA, spoke about the United States’ hegemonic policies against Venezuela, stating that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, had threatened Venezuela during his first term, and even after that term ended, he announced in statements that Venezuela was on the brink of collapse and no one would buy its oil.
He emphasized that this level of attacks and pressures is not limited to one or two terms but has a long history.
Since 26 years ago, when Hugo Chávez became president of Venezuela in 1999, we have always witnessed imperialistic threats against the Bolivarian revolution, the people, and the government of Venezuela.
The Venezuelan ambassador added that this approach by the United States has a long history. In 1999, when Hugo Chávez came to power, only three years into his presidency, a coup was carried out against the government in 2002.
The goal of this coup was to strike at the Bolivarian revolution and overthrow Chávez, but this overthrow lasted only a few hours. All these movements were solely because of Venezuela’s oil resources. This scenario was designed by the CIA to seize power in the country. Such an approach has always been on their agenda.
