Violent and deadly encounter in Nablus

After two Israelis were shot dead in their car, Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank set fire to Palestinian homes, shops, and vehicles.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, more than a hundred people needed treatment due to tear gas inhalation by Israeli security forces.

These violences occurred in the settlement of Huwara, south of Nablus, hours after Israeli and Palestinian security officials signed an agreement, mediated by the US and Egypt in Jordan, to end the violence that has intensified again in the past two months.

According to this agreement, a peace process will be initiated, and Israel will halt settlement construction in the occupied West Bank for six months. However, a few hours later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted that settlement construction in these areas will not stop.
