Voria Ghafouri’s Reaction to the Treatment and Killing of Protesters
Voria Ghafouri, the former captain of Tehran’s Esteghlal football team and the current player for Foolad Khuzestan team, used hashtags like Mahsa Amini, Hossein Ronaghi, and nationwide protests in a tweet about the widespread protests in various cities of Iran and the killing of some protesters by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic. He used a literary phrase, saying, ‘As Ismail said, once blood is shed, it begins to flow.’
