The Wall Street Journal: The Rafsanjani and Khomeini families rejected Shamkhani’s request to calm the situation in the streets.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that last month, with the escalation of nationwide protests, Ali Shamkhani, the Secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, secretly asked the Rafsanjani and Khomeini families to help calm the situation in the streets.

According to this report, Mr. Shamkhani told representatives of these two families that, in return, some of the freedoms sought by the protesters would be granted.

However, according to the newspaper, these two families rejected the request of the Secretary of the National Security Council.

Iran Gate has exclusively written a special report on Shamkhani. One of the articles published on this topic was released under the following title:

Corruptions of the Shamkhani family under the protection of the Supreme National Security Council.
