Warning about the shortage of 70,000 teachers in Mehr month
The head of the Parliament’s Research and Education Commission has warned of a shortage of 70,000 to 80,000 teachers in Iran in the current year’s Mehr month.
Alireza Manadi Sefidan has cited the low amount of teaching fees and lack of motivation for teachers as reasons for the shortage of workforce in education.
Sefidan stated that the issue of teacher shortage is a reality that the education system faced last year as well. He added that when we had 12 million students, we had over a million teachers, but now that many teachers are retiring at once, it will create significant gaps.
It has been said that the teacher shortage is so serious that if not resolved through proposed solutions, they will have to turn to retirees.
Sefidan has also criticized the employment system of the Cultural University and stated that unfortunately, the employment organization, despite seeing many problems in this area, has not provided good solutions.
The head of the Parliament’s Research and Education Commission has also stated that he has written an official letter to Masoud Pezeshkian in this regard and warned about this crisis.
