Martial Law in the City of Mahabad
The city of Mahabad, which since Saturday had been the scene of widespread public protests following the funeral of two killed protesters, has been subjected to a large-scale attack by government armed forces and special units since Saturday night.
According to videos and reports from the Kurdish city of Mahabad in West Azerbaijan Province, government forces have entered the city with military weapons and with the support of armored vehicles, and the sound of continuous gunfire can be heard from various parts of the city.
