Washington Post report: Increased activity at Iran’s buried facilities after US and Israeli attacks
The presence of dump trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery in recent images indicates that the project continues with seriousness.
On Friday, September 26 (October 4), the Washington Post, in a new report citing satellite images and analyses by independent experts, announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran has significantly increased construction activities at a mysterious and deeply buried underground complex south of Natanz following heavy US and Israeli attacks on its nuclear facilities in June.
This location, referred to in official documents as ‘Kuh-e Kalang-e Zela’ or ‘Kalang Mountain,’ has been under construction in the heart of the Zagros mountain range since 2020, and its true purpose and function have been questioned from the beginning.
According to the Washington Post, this underground site had already attracted the attention of international observers, but after the June attacks, which targeted Iran’s main facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, its importance and sensitivity have increased even further.
