The spokesperson for the water industry stated that some regions of Iran are in a critical water shortage situation.

On Wednesday, August 19, the spokesperson for Iran’s water industry announced that the filling percentage of dams across the country is at 40%.

Isa Bozorgzadeh mentioned that this is the national average, and in some areas like Tehran, this percentage is 18%, which is a critical situation.

Mr. Bozorgzadeh said that other cities like Mashhad, Tabriz, Baneh, Arak, Saveh, and Bandar Abbas also have a situation similar to Tehran.

Amid the worsening water crises in Iran, the most notable approach of the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards water scarcity has been temporary measures like rationing or reducing water pressure, as well as requesting the public to help with conservation.
