Weapons exports from Israel to Azerbaijan

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, publicly available aviation data shows that over the past seven years, 92 cargo flights by the Azerbaijani airline Silk Way have landed at the Ovda Airbase. This is the only airport in Israel through which explosives can be transferred in and out.

Haaretz adds that Israel has maintained a strategic alliance with Azerbaijan over the past two decades, selling weapons worth billions of dollars to this predominantly Shia-populated country. In return, Azerbaijan supplies Israel with oil resources and provides it with access to Iran.
