We do not recognize the fact-finding committee by the Deputy of the Judiciary Power

We do not recognize the fact-finding mission of the Judiciary’s Assistant.

Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy for International Affairs of the Judiciary and Secretary of the Human Rights Headquarters, while explaining the Iranian team’s plans at the Human Rights Council meetings, stated that the UN Human Rights Council in 2023, by moving in the direction of political demands, largely unjustly influenced by Western countries, has caused more suffering for victims of human rights violations and has turned into a tool for political interventions.

The Secretary of the Human Rights Headquarters indicated that to counter the reports of the so-called fact-finding mission, they will present their documents and the results of the President’s Select Committee at the Human Rights Council meeting. He also emphasized that we will also highlight that political actions cannot cover up the realities of the matter.

He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not recognize the so-called fact-finding mission, which was established in a political process by the Human Rights Council last year. We have clearly stated this position because Iran is responsibly dealing with the events that occurred due to the disturbances in the country last year. The President has also appointed a National Committee to investigate the unrest of 1401.

The authorities of the Islamic Republic use the term ‘riot’ to refer to last year’s popular protests.
