The United Nations climate agency chief says we only have two years to save the world from greenhouse gases.

The head of the UN climate agency said humanity has only two years to reduce greenhouse gas emissions with the goal of saving the world, and even less time to secure the necessary financial resources for these changes.

Simon Steel added on Thursday, April 11, that he is well aware that his warning may seem exaggerated, but he believes that action in the next two years is vital.

Mr. Steel said in part of his speech at the Chatham House research institute in London that we can still overcome greenhouse gases through implementing a new generation of national climate programs, but these more effective programs need to be implemented now.

He indirectly referred to this year’s elections in many countries around the world, reminding that action on climate change is not solely the responsibility of the powerful.
