Widespread coverage of Ali Daei’s family’s return in today’s newspapers

Iran’s morning newspapers on Wednesday, December 28th, reacted to the news of the return of Ali Daei’s family’s airplane after a day off.

On Monday, December 26th, security officials forced a Mahan Airlines flight bound for Dubai to land at Kish Airport to prevent Mona Farrokh Azari and Noura Daei, Ali Daei’s wife and daughter, from leaving the country.

Ali Daei, the superstar and the top scorer in the history of Iranian football, has been under pressure from security agencies following his recent protests and statements criticizing the government’s behavior. During this time, some shops belonging to him and his family have been sealed.
