Widespread Power Cuts in Iran
The demand for 79,872 megawatts of electricity consumption in the country in the past day has left experts in the electricity industry astonished and unbelieving, setting a strange record in the history of Iran’s electricity industry.
Yesterday, once again, a historical record of electricity consumption in the country was broken, with a momentary demand of 79,872 megawatts of electricity recorded at 1427 hours, marking a new peak in the country’s electricity consumption.
Mustafa Rajabi Mashhadi, the spokesperson for the electricity industry, said that the demand for 79,872 megawatts of electricity consumption in the country in the past day has left experts in the electricity industry astonished and unbelieving, setting a strange record in the history of Iran’s electricity industry.
He added that until breaking the record of 80,000 megawatts, only 128 megawatts remain, numbers that are recorded one after the other in the statistics of the country’s electricity industry as consumption demand, which is truly astonishing, and colleagues in the electricity industry go to great lengths to meet this demand.
Rajabi Mashhadi described this level of demand as equivalent to the consumption of two countries, Egypt and Spain, and emphasized that we are experiencing an unprecedented heatwave. According to the meteorological organization’s forecast, this intense heat will continue to affect the country until the middle of next week.
The CEO of Tavanir Company stated that the average electricity consumption growth in the past 10 years has been 47 percent, but this year, due to repeated record-breaking electricity consumption, this growth has increased to over 85 percent.
