Zakharova: Iran-U.S. Talks Should Lead to Lasting Stability in the Region

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, expressed hope that the negotiations between Iran and the U.S. would lead to lasting and long-term stability in West Asia.

She said, ‘We are deeply concerned about renewed attacks that could lead to the resumption of a widespread military and political conflict in the Persian Gulf, a conflict stemming from U.S. and Israeli military aggression against Iran.’

Zakharova added that Russia hopes the talks between Tehran and Washington will pave the way for reducing tensions and creating lasting stability in the region.

The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry also emphasized that Moscow is ready to actively participate in political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis.
