Zelensky: Any negotiations to end the war must be fair

Ukrainian President Zelensky emphasized on Tuesday, February 19, that any negotiations to end the war must be fair and held with the participation of European countries and Turkey.

In a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara, Zelensky said that Ukraine, Europe in its broad sense including the European Union, Turkey, and the United Kingdom should participate in the negotiations and in drafting the necessary security guarantees with the United States concerning the fate of our region.

On the other hand, Erdoğan considered Turkey to be the ideal host for potential negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States. Speaking after about three hours of talks with Zelensky, he proposed hosting the negotiations at a time when Zelensky is trying to strengthen Kyiv’s position following new diplomatic moves by Donald Trump to approach Moscow.
