Brazil Elections and New Crisis in America
Before, we talked about the importance of the Brazil elections for American politics and relations between American conservatives and extremists with the supporting movement of the current Brazilian president. The effects of the Brazil elections on the American elections have now taken on a particular dimension that does not surprise us much.
The relationship between the network supporting Bolsonaro, the president of Brazil, and American and European extremists is a structured and organized relationship with various dimensions, including the network of evangelical Christians. Beyond all of this, social networks and media relations have provided new opportunities for American extremist and Trumpist structures to sow discord among Bolsonaro supporters in America.
Bolsonaro has long cast doubt on the structure of democracy in Brazil and the process of electoral activities. He is aware of the high likelihood of his defeat in the second round of elections this week. For months, he has been talking about the possibility of electoral fraud and conspiracy using electronic voting systems.

In the past week, American extremists and anti-democracy groups have been using Bolsonaro’s false claims to raise allegations of fraud in the previous and current US elections on social media. This has led to increased skepticism among election activists, executive election officials in various states, and law enforcement and security officials in the aftermath of the US elections.
Meanwhile, the voting systems used in the US have been provided by officially approved companies endorsed by federal and state authorities. These companies have filed lawsuits against fraud claimants, especially news and television networks that repeat Trump’s allegations, and have received substantial fines from them. Despite these baseless allegations of fraud, Trump supporters continue to raise concerns about the integrity of these systems, even though they refer to the Brazilian elections, which fundamentally have completely different electronic voting systems that are also highly trusted.
