Hassan Ghofouri Ferd, a conservative politician in Iran and a former member of the Islamic Coalition Party, passed away in Tehran at the age of 79 due to illness
Mr. Ghofouri Ferd served as a representative in various terms of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament), and he also had a government background. He was the Minister of Energy in the government of Mir-Hossein Mousavi and served as the head of the Physical Education Organization in the government of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, where he was considered the Deputy President
Mr. Ghofouri Ferd had a degree in Physics from the United States and in recent years, he was teaching at Amirkabir University of Technology, also known as Tehran Polytechnic
He has also served as the head of the Inspection Board of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution during a certain period
