Official request to halt all cooperation between the US and Saudi Arabia
The Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has officially called for the cessation of relations between the United States and Saudi Arabia. Robert Menendez, a prominent Democratic senator and foreign policy leader of the party in the Senate, stated in an official statement that the US government should halt all cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the areas of arms deals, partnerships, collaborations, and security assistance.
Robert Menendez released his statement based on the Senate’s dissatisfaction and anger over Salman’s oil partnership with Putin and his recent decision in OPEC Plus. He declared that this comprehensive cessation of cooperation with Saudi Arabia should continue until Salman revises his policies towards Putin’s aggression in Ukraine. He stated that the Saudis have chosen to cooperate with Putin and assist him in the Ukrainian conflict, and therefore, he will not support any military, security, or arms sales programs and plans that involve Saudi Arabia as a key figure in their approval in the Senate.
