The officials of the Islamic Republic use the term ‘unveiled’ to refer to women and girls who are unwilling to wear compulsory hijab in public places.
Every year at the beginning of the summer season, the law enforcement forces of the Islamic Republic initiate a new wave of sending guidance patrols to the streets to enforce compulsory hijab.
In late Shahrivar last year, the guidance patrol, by arresting Mahsa Amini, a young girl from Sanandaj who was traveling to Tehran with her family, caused her death, which triggered widespread protests in the country.
