The White House tenant intends to stay

Joe Biden is becoming a candidate

The White House tenant plans to stay. According to IranGate, Joe Biden announced on Tuesday, April 10, that he intends to run again in the 2024 US presidential election and will still be in the field. The President of the United States for the first time in an interview with ABC News announced that he intends to run again for a second term in the presidential election, which is due to be held next year.

It is worth mentioning that before the television announcement of the representative of the Democratic Party of America, the president’s wife, Jill, during her trip to Kenya, spoke about Joe Biden’s desire to participate in the upcoming presidential election and announced it. She said: Despite his old age, her husband is ready for a new term of presidency.

Biden, who recently turned 80, was elected for the first time as President of the United States two years ago, and was considered the oldest president in American history. If he is re-elected in 2024 and completes his four-year term, he will leave the White House at the age of 86.

In an interview conducted by David Muir, a journalist with President Biden, he openly challenged his age and asked the president whether he had considered his age in deciding to run again or not. Biden replied: “No. But it is the legal and undeniable right of the people to ask questions about my age and this is perfectly legitimate and the only answer I can give is “look at me”.

Mr. Biden is the first Democratic figure to speak of his intention to run in next year’s elections. Currently in the Democratic Party, other than Biden, other figures of this party have not officially announced their candidacy, but in recent weeks in informal circles, there has been talk of announcing the candidacy of “Kamala Harris”, the vice president, and “Pete Buttigieg”, the transportation secretary.

Both the Democratic and Republican parties will announce their candidates in the intra-party elections in each of the different states from the beginning of 2024. This process will continue until about mid-summer and the final announcement of the candidates of each of the two parties. However, according to a political tradition in America, the incumbent president is usually exempt from intra-party competition for official candidacy, unless there are severe disagreements over his candidacy among his party members.

Biden’s election to run again for the presidency in 2024 will most likely not be challenged by any prominent politicians in the Democratic Party because Joe Biden is very popular among his party members. A recent poll conducted in March showed that Joe Biden’s popularity in America is 38 percent, which was seven percent less than the previous month.

The situation on the opposing front, the Republican Party, is quite different. Currently, in addition to the official candidacy of Donald Trump, the former president, Nikki Haley, the former United States ambassador to the United Nations, has also announced her candidacy. One of the potential candidates who is mentioned as the most serious intra-party rival of Donald Trump is Ron DeSantis, the elected governor of Florida. He is expected to pose a serious challenge to Trump by announcing his candidacy.

However, according to a poll conducted by Reuters last week, 48 percent of American citizens who vote in favor of the Republicans want the party to finalize Donald Trump’s candidacy, and Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, only has the support of 19 percent of his party members.
