Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism announces unilateral visa cancellation for Chinese citizens

Ali Asghar Shalbafan, Deputy Minister of Tourism at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of Iran, has announced Iran’s voluntary decision to cancel visas for Chinese citizens.

He stated that the Iranian government has always prioritized facilitating the entry of tourists and guests from China, and based on this, it has voluntarily lifted the visa requirement for Chinese tourists. He mentioned this during a meeting with Chinese tourism activists who have traveled to Iran as part of a tour.

In 1398 (2019-2020), Iran had also announced the unilateral cancellation of visas with China, stating that Chinese nationals will be granted a 15-day visa-free stay on each visit to Iran.
