The Fox News case did not reach the court; $787 million payment was made to avoid being accused of defamation and lies.

The first hearing of the Dominion technology giant’s lawsuit against Fox News for defamation was canceled by mutual agreement, and the cases that could have had extensive political and legal implications were closed.

In the settlement reached in the final minutes before the trial was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Fox News agreed to pay $787.5 million, which is equivalent to half of the damages requested by Dominion.

Dominion, one of the largest manufacturers of voting machines in the United States, was supposed to take Fox News to court today due to its false claims about election fraud and the company’s role in it.
