Israel's Most Advanced Spy Satellite Launched

Israel’s most advanced spy satellite launched

On Wednesday, Israel launched a new version of the Ofek spy satellite, announcing its intention to enhance round-the-clock regional surveillance as the country prepares for a potential confrontation with Iran.

Ofek 13 is the latest and most advanced model of the Ofek reconnaissance satellites that have been produced in Israel since 1988.

This satellite was built by the Israel Aerospace Industries and will provide 24-hour monitoring of the Middle East region.

In a statement, the Israel Aerospace Industries said that Ofek 13 is the most advanced of its kind, with the capability to conduct radar observation and gather information in all weather and visibility conditions.

The satellite was launched into orbit with a Shavit 2 rocket, heading west over the Mediterranean.
