16% Increase in the Number of Accident Victims Last Year

16% increase in the number of traffic accident fatalities last year

Statistics from the Legal Medicine Organization show that traffic accident fatalities increased by 16% last year, rising from 16,778 in 2021 to 19,450 in 2022.

According to ISNA news agency, based on Legal Medicine statistics, out of the more than 19,000 victims, 15,439 were men and about 4,000 were women. Most of these individuals lost their lives in intercity traffic accidents.

The highest number of fatalities was in Fars Province with 1,567 people, and the lowest was in Ardabil Province with 251 people.
