The protesting 18-year-old Nima Nouri was killed by gunfire on November 3rd.

The family of Nima Nouri, a 17-year-old protester who was killed by gunfire on November 3rd during the 40th-day ceremony of Najafi, held his 18th birthday ceremony at the Behesht Eshtehard cemetery. The families of Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Sepehr Azami also joined them in this ceremony.

Participants played the song ‘Happy Birthday’ and recited the poem ‘I See That Blooming Joy’ with the voice of Houshang Ebtehaj. They also sang the song ‘Baraye’ together.

Nima Nouri’s birthday was announced on social media as April 15th, but his family held the ceremony for him on Friday, April 13th.

The 17-year-old protester Nima Nouri was killed by gunfire to his leg and stomach on November 3rd during the 40th-day ceremony of Hadis Najafi in Karaj.

A source close to the Nouri family told the BBC that after being injured, Nima Nouri called his father and said that he had been shot in the leg, that he was okay, and that he was being transferred to Vesal Clinic.
