25 Tons of Missing Uranium Found in Libya

Armed forces stationed in eastern Libya reported the discovery of about two and a half tons of uranium ore. The Atomic Energy Organization had previously reported the disappearance of this shipment. According to these forces, ten barrels containing the ore were found near the Chad border.

The International Atomic Energy Agency says it is actively working to verify the reports after its inspectors visited the uranium ore storage site earlier this week and warned about the missing two and a half ton shipment.

The location where this shipment was discovered is not under the control of the Libyan government.
