300 institutions and companies on the new U.S. sanctions list against Russia
On Wednesday, June 13, the United States announced that it has added 300 more institutions and companies to the sanctions list against Russia due to the war in Ukraine.
The new sanctions by the U.S. Treasury Department and the State Department include more than 300 institutions and companies in Russia, China, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Moscow Stock Exchange and several of its subsidiaries, which conduct billions of dollars in complex transactions daily, as well as entities involved in three Russian natural gas projects, are subject to these sanctions.
Janet Yellen, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, said in a statement that today’s actions strike at the remaining avenues for Russia to procure international materials and equipment, including their reliance on revenue from natural resources.
