35 countries demand the removal of Russia and Belarus from the Olympics

Sports ministers from 35 countries worldwide opposed the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the 2024 Paris Olympics in a video conference, prior to which the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had proposed the return of athletes from these two countries to the competition.

In response to Thomas Bach’s request, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), expressing their disagreement with the return of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the competitions under a neutral flag, the sports ministers of 35 countries expressed their opposition.

Given Thomas Bach’s stance, it is believed that the IOC is attempting to issue permits for Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics under special conditions as a neutral team.
