Six Iranian citizens killed in recent Turkey earthquake
ISNA news agency, quoting officials from the Iranian embassy and consulate in Turkey, reported the death of six Iranian citizens in the recent earthquake in Turkey.
The ISNA report stated that three of them, Mohammad Reza Mirahmadi, Mehdi Saedavi, and Hamed Mataroudi, were members of the Malatya Belediyespor Amputee team who were staying with their team at the Kercual Hotel.
It was also announced that three other women, including two Iranian students, were killed in this incident.
According to the report, one of the Iranian students named Shohreh Najafi, who was studying in Cyprus, had traveled to Turkey during her vacation and perished in the earthquake.
It has been reported that the bodies of these three women were identified in the regions of Osmaniye, Adiyaman, and Diyarbakir.
It is suspected that with the continuation of debris removal, the number of Iranians killed in the recent earthquake may increase.
According to the latest statistics, at least 43,800 people in Turkey and northern Syria have died due to the severe earthquake.
