71 Percent of Female Graduates in Iran Are Unemployed

71 percent of female graduates in Iran are unemployed.

The Statistical Center of Iran has announced that the unemployment rate for women last year was 278 percent and for men, it was 135 percent. In other words, the unemployment rate for women was about twice that of men.

According to a report recently published by the Statistical Center of Iran, last year, the share of the unemployed population with higher education degrees among all unemployed individuals was 271 percent for men and 71 percent for women.

Previously, Farda Economy had reported that in the Iranian economy, for every 100 employed men, there are nearly 141 employed women. This is while in sectors such as finance, health insurance, and education, which have a high demand for skilled and educated labor, the number of employed women even exceeds that of men.

The highest unemployment rates in various cities of Iran have also been announced, with the provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, Lorestan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Kermanshah having the highest unemployment rates, respectively.
