813 People Killed in Nowruz Traffic Accidents, Says Police

Traffic Police of Faraja: 813 people died in Nowruz accidents

The head of the Information and Traffic Control Center of the Traffic Police of Faraja announced the end of the police’s Nowruz operation on the country’s roads and stated that during the implementation of this plan, 813 people lost their lives at the scene of accidents.

Colonel Ahmad Shirani, explaining the details of this news, said the police’s Nowruz operation on roads across the country started on March 15 and continued until April 3. During this period, all police forces were on full alert and were deployed on the roads.

He stated that during the implementation of this plan, about 100,000 traffic accidents occurred, and among these, 667 were fatal accidents. In these accidents, 813 people lost their lives. However, this statistic pertains to those who died at the scene of the accidents, and the final death toll will be announced by the forensic medicine organization. Therefore, the announced numbers are considered preliminary statistics.

The head of the Information and Traffic Control Center of the Traffic Police of Faraja also mentioned the number of injured in the accidents, saying that out of the total 100,000 accidents that occurred during this period, 17,056 were injury accidents, in which 21,441 people were injured. Some of these injuries included amputations.
