9 dead and 2800 injured in pager explosions in Lebanon
The Lebanese Health Minister announced on Tuesday, September 27, that pager explosions resulted in the death of 9 people and injured 2800 others, with the condition of at least 200 of the injured being critical.
Earlier, a Lebanese militia stated in a communiqué that on Tuesday afternoon, several pager devices used by some unit and institution employees exploded, resulting in the deaths of a young girl and two members of this group.
In a second statement, this group accused Israel of being responsible for these explosions and declared that the enemy will be punished for this aggression.
Two sources from Lebanon said that tents have been set up for blood donation in the Dahiyeh area, located in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Iranian media report that Mojtaba Amani, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic in Beirut, has also been injured.
