9 killed and 2800 injured in pager explosions in Lebanon

Lebanon’s Health Minister announced on Wednesday, September 18, that the pager explosions resulted in the death of 9 individuals and injuries to 2800 others, with at least 200 of them in critical condition.

Earlier, a Lebanese paramilitary group stated in a statement that in the afternoon of Wednesday, a number of pager devices used by employees of units and institutions exploded, resulting in the death of a child and two members of this group.

In a second statement, this group accused Israel of being behind these explosions, declaring that the enemy will be held accountable for this aggression.

Two sources from Lebanon said that in the suburb area located in the southern outskirts of Beirut, tents have been set up for blood donation.

Iranian media reports that Mojtaba Amineh, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic in Beirut, has also been injured.
