Fatemi Amin Remains in Position

Fatemi Amin Retained in Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade Vote in Parliament in Raisi’s Absence

The impeachment motion against Reza Fatemi Amin, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade, which was on the agenda of the Islamic Consultative Assembly today, did not pass, and Mr. Fatemi Amin remains as minister with the vote of the representatives.

In today’s open session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, representatives spoke both in favor of and against the continuation of Mr. Fatemi Amin’s ministry, after which the parliament proceeded to vote.

According to Iranian news agencies, out of the 274 representatives present in today’s open session, 84 voted in favor of impeaching or removing Reza Fatemi Amin, 182 opposed, 6 abstained, and 2 votes were invalid.

Based on this, the impeachment motion did not pass, and Reza Fatemi Amin remains in the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade.
