Harris’s politics may be familiar to us.
Harris has been under pressure in recent weeks to make his positions on various issues more transparent and clear than in the early weeks of his entry into the American elections.
We have previously mentioned that deliberately he does not delve into many areas and his statements and speeches have been in support of the middle class, workers, labor unions, and Americans, except for his detailed entry into some economic and livelihood issues that became controversial. We have not heard much from him about the details of what he knows, believes, and wants to do.
He continued this trend cleverly in his interview with his deputy chosen by CNN.
The specific issue that everyone may have been waiting to hear details about was the Gaza crisis, which he explicitly rejected the ban on arms sales to Israel, and in this situation, it is the Biden and Harris administration that has created some restrictions.
Despite all the controversies, Arab and Muslim Americans have a very positive view of her compared to Biden. Her historic and grand speech at the Democratic Convention in Chicago was the peak of this political game. Harris spoke intelligently about everything and kept everyone satisfied to some extent, from tech activists to the middle class, workers, business owners, and companies.
The secret of this situation is Harris’s detachment and lack of indebtedness. Her main fortune was being Biden’s successor, and within just 48 hours, without any requests or demands from others, and solely relying on the iron will of the party to defeat Trump, she was introduced as Biden’s replacement.
Even Nancy Pelosi, Obama, and other dignitaries who played a role in supporting Biden cannot claim or demand anything from her because Harris, with all her might, opposed her boss’s idea until the very last moment. The entire party has mobilized to defeat Trump, and in this process, no one can blame her.
The progressive spectrum of the party, with the fiery support of Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez, quickly turned towards Harris, making history. Even though it took a few days to negotiate with Harris and a few economic promises from her were enough to please them.
Biden supporters, Obama backers, progressives, and even Biden’s staunch critics regarding Israel are all supporters of Harris. Harris is reminiscent of Obama’s 2008 campaign, a young senator who suddenly, without serious pressure and openly against the party elites, including the main Democratic candidate, Hillary, stood tall.
Harris even had that Outsider aspect and independence from the established structure that Obama had in a way. A significant portion of the American community does not see her involved in Biden’s policies in polls.
But the undeniable fact is that she must remain independent from Biden to the extent possible. The strange point is that she has been given the space to demonstrate this independence in the remaining two months. The Iranian policy has recently faced the phenomenon of Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, who suddenly emerged and, despite his main support and foundation in the Reformist Front, showed and did not show himself in a special way in all forms and political fronts.
One of the most important strategies for breaking free from being labeled was relying on upper-level documents, and for the tranquility of the reformists, the necessity of defeating Jalili and Qalibaf and the urgency of the country’s situation were utilized.
The difference between Iranian and American policies is like night and day, but to compare this style of generalization and indifference, at least two points must be emphasized.
In any case, one of the candidates was approved by the Guardian Council and benefited greatly from the non-approval of other important candidates, and in fact, owes his presidency to that.
Another point is that the acceptable and even relatively acceptable lack of participation in the presidential elections showed how serious the Iranian political discourse approved by the system is in approaching the people.
This serious lack of participation, despite all the efforts of the candidates in debates to speak about the people’s demands, had a significant impact.
The claim of insufficient time for advertising is also not acceptable because the time gap between qualification approval and election day in this period was similar to previous periods.
The political faces of the system’s popular figures have become devoid of identity, and with this lack of identity, their promises are not attractive, their words not only fail to satisfy everyone but satisfy no one, and even fail to attract attention.
