The president appeared good.
The president appeared good; in one sentence, it can be said that the president of the physicians emerged successful in the first live television interview and controlled it for 50 minutes.
Although it seemed that the two presenters were insisting on getting a commitment from him in every question so that criticism might come later, probably months later, the physicians did not step on the watermelon peel.
It is true that the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting is a governmental organization, but when it is at the service and expense of the government, the head of it should intellectually be from the same spectrum as the head and political deputy of this organization.
If this is the case, from spring to summer 2021 to 2024, not only they are at the disposal, but they become the government’s promotional horn, and if not, they criticize or challenge from the perspective of other institutions.
With this description, it is evident that the management of the broadcasting company would have preferred to have a conversation last night with Saeed Jalili or even Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf as the ninth president of Iran, but the one sitting in front of them was not those two, but Masoud Pezeshkian, who of course thanked one of them in the position of the head of the parliament.
He himself remembered that his competence had been rejected just a few months ago by the executive committee appointed by the Ministry of Interior of the late President Raisi for representing Tabriz in the parliament. With the intervention of a leadership figure, followed by the Guardian Council and the Supervisory Board, he was able to participate in the elections, and now he is the President of Iran.
The first issue is whether he promises to reduce the inflation rate to 30% in a few months. The second issue is whether he commits to achieving an 8% economic growth rate. Instead of a simple yes or no, the President said that meeting the 8% growth target requires attracting $200 to $250 billion in capital. In the best-case scenario, only half of this amount can be provided domestically, and the rest needs to be attracted through foreign investments, which also necessitates interaction with the world.
With this description, achieving an 8% growth rate is currently not possible. Even when they were interested in talking about clichés of justice, they described gender, ethnic, and regional justice and the grading system for the university entrance exam as unfair in the current situation, stating that a review will be conducted.
The presenters wanted him to commit to continuing the provincial trips so that they could prepare a report in a few days and ask what happened. However, he insisted that he would not give an empty promise and indirectly referred to the results of the former president’s provincial trips, which consumed one trillion capital and needs another one trillion tomans for exploitation.
The description of the legacy of the former government has also clarified the situation of the inflated horse. They say we have become heirs to something good, yes, but there is no money in it. In other words, they have handed over a debt-ridden government and there is no news of the inflated horse.
The presenters insisted on talking about the current situation, and he said that the people themselves know what it is. He then listed inflation, shortages, farmers’ demands, wheat, caregivers, teachers, retirees, and imbalance in electricity, energy, and the environment.
These descriptions had no resemblance to the situation described by the president and the book that Iran newspaper has published in the past three years and made its content available for free on its Telegram channel.
When asked about the President’s trip to Iraq, one would expect him to deepen relations with neighboring countries and continue the late President Rafsanjani’s government path. However, he mentioned that his main goal is to visit the shrine of Imam Ali, although he will inevitably have diplomatic meetings as well.
In a manner similar to Mr. Jalili, he did not mention that exporting potatoes and onions to Iraq would meet the country’s currency needs. He had previously mentioned exporting watermelon and melon to Russia.
The doctors’ response to a question about the trip to New York, the headquarters of the United Nations, was interesting. When he said he would meet with the leadership before that, the initial assumption was that he probably intended to have a conversation with President Biden if faced with him.
However, he did not address this issue. Instead, he stated that he intends to have discussions with skilled Iranians and investors and invite them to return to the country. However, they should not be subjected to dossier-making or be banned from leaving if they come.
In other words, he considered the trip to Iraq as a pilgrimage rather than a political visit, similar to Ahmadinejad’s tourism and souvenir photo with the American sergeant. But he plans for New York; however, he will only invite them if he is sure they will not face problems in Tehran.
It is clear that the two presenters were not allowed to talk about reviving the JCPOA, but surely he will be asked about it in the press conference next week.
The presenters wanted the president to commit to a 30% inflation rate, 8% growth, and provincial trips, but he emphasized sticking to what he had said in the debates and, most importantly, about attraction rather than elimination.
The most frequently used words he used were justice, unity, and perspective, and he mentioned the budget several times, emphasizing that it should be fairly distributed and proportional to the plans.
Therefore, it can be speculated that in the press conference, based on this, he will be asked about the assistance to religious and semi-religious institutions in the budget.
This is while in this year’s budget, 110 trillion Tomans have been allocated as assistance, with one-third of the infrastructure budget earmarked to support institutions and individuals. This is the same point that may cause friction with some physicians in some places. However, it is unlikely that the excitement from them will lead to a fate like the detention of Lahijan, who said that the issue was due to the excitement caused by friction.
The main principle of doctors is absorption instead of elimination, which means cosmic attacks have not weakened him, but rather made him more steadfast and pursuing justice, starting with the entrance exam.
It is worth mentioning that although presenters used the title ‘Mr. Doctor’ for former presidents, it is more appealing for the audience to address someone as ‘Doctor’ when they are a physician or surgeon. Physicians, not devoid of humility, may occasionally mention achieving the second rank in heart surgery and not being unfamiliar with foreign knowledge.
Although he claimed that his first diploma was in fields close to agriculture, and for this reason, he spent his military service period before the revolution in Sistan and Baluchestan and in the Sepah promoting and developing, and decided to pursue a natural sciences diploma there and participate in the medical entrance exam. He did so while, according to current regulations, this possibility was not available to him, and his diploma remained, changing his life’s destiny.
The president, by citing numerous and mostly educational examples, questioned the claim of justice orientation in the previous government, and it is evident that his main concern is fair distribution of resources and attracting capital through political and diplomatic solutions.
I will not only seek to attract capital, but also attract people and then after the program, I will write the regulations related to the virtual space for the convenience of the people in my personal page in the National Security Council and the Supreme Council of Cyberspace.
In the program itself, he said he selected someone from among various candidates who has a solid program in this field.
Let’s remember that the President is also the head of these two supreme councils. It is interesting that the female host, who asked about the virtual space, although speaking on behalf of the people, talked about governance, while people in the neighborhoods and streets do not use this word even once from morning till night, and their concern about the virtual space is primarily about filtering. Installing a filter breaker not only incurs costs but also enables access to unethical websites, and the only achievement of the filtering group has been spreading the stigma of using a filter breaker.
In the previous note, we had advised the President that it is better to speak to the people instead of feeling like interviewing two people from a distance with the camera, and therefore the best moment was when facing the camera and actually speaking to the people until the end, reminding many of the historical dialogues and debates between him and Alireza Zakani until the end, you will remain different.
The Saturday night program must be considered as a prelude to media interviews in the following week.
The President did not want to dive into big talk and said the 50-minute TV interview on 31 August was a prelude to that conference, where the questions will be completely different.
