Iraqi Warning in Turkey

Iranian Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, is engaged in a series of regional visits as part of his agenda. He arrived in Istanbul early Friday morning for continuous negotiations on regional issues. Araghchi, during this trip to participate in the Foreign Ministers’ Summit of the Cooperation Mechanism of the Caucasus, met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, and Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian.

The meeting with the Turkish President took place in the form of a collective meeting of foreign ministers present at the summit with Erdogan. An official meeting between Araghchi and the members of the Hamas Political Council was also held. Araghchi, during the meeting with his Turkish counterpart, warned about the situation in the region, stating that the possibility of war in the region is a serious concern, and no one in the region except the Zionist regime benefits from this situation.

During this trip, our country’s Foreign Minister also reacted to Biden’s recent statements. Joe Biden, the President of the United States, claimed in his remarks yesterday that he was aware of the timing and manner of Israel’s attack on Iran. In response to these remarks, Araghchi wrote on Twitter that if someone had knowledge of the timing and manner of Israel’s attack on Iran, or had provided equipment and support for such folly, they would logically bear responsibility for any potential damage.

Istanbul is the destination of one of the intensive trips of our country’s diplomatic chief, aimed at regional negotiations. Araghchi went to Cairo before traveling to Turkey. After arriving in Cairo, Araghchi met and talked with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry of Egypt.

Before Cairo, the Foreign Minister had traveled to Jordan and met with King Abdullah II and Ayman Safadi, the Foreign Minister of Jordan. Araghchi had also previously traveled to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Araghchi stated in a joint press conference with the Turkish Foreign Minister yesterday that the possibility of war in the region is still a serious concern, and no one in the region, except the Zionist regime, wants this situation.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi mentioned in this meeting that following the important negotiations yesterday, he had bilateral talks with the President and Foreign Minister of Turkey regarding the Caucasus. He stated that yesterday we had the second meeting of the South Caucasus following the first meeting in Tehran, which was successfully held.

Participants emphasized on peace and stability in the Caucasus, seeing the realization of peace as a manifestation of cooperation among regional countries. They expressed opposition to the presence of non-regional forces and identified terrorism as a common issue. Securing border areas, environmental issues, enhancing cooperation in energy and joint investments, strengthening banking and tourism relations, as well as peaceful use of nuclear energy were among the topics discussed by both sides. The year 2025 has been designated as a cultural year for both sides, and we have various programs. We are confident that Iran and Turkey, as two countries with ancient cultures, can strengthen their ties with each other.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs added that we discussed regional issues, especially the continuation of the crimes of the Zionist regime and its approach to spreading war in the region, which is not acceptable to any party in the region. Both countries believe that the genocide in Gaza and the crimes in Lebanon must be stopped immediately, and all Islamic countries should use all their capacities to stop Israel.

The region has become a powder keg that can seriously threaten the world, and the possibility of war is still serious. No one except the Zionist regime wants this, but we are ready for any scenario.

Meeting with Erdogan

The President of Turkey, during a meeting with Seyed Abbas Araqchi, emphasized Turkey’s serious intention to deepen cooperation between the two countries and expressed support for the process of expanding relations in all areas, especially economic and trade relations between the two countries, and the removal of some existing obstacles.

The Iraqi emphasized the strengthening of regional interactions and expanding bilateral relations, especially in the economic, trade, tourism dimensions, and combating terrorism. They stated that Iran and Turkey, as two major influential neighbors in the Islamic region and the world, share the view on the serious threat posed by the unlimited aggressions and crimes of the Zionist regime on the security and stability of the region, emphasizing the urgent need for international action to end the massacre of innocent people, curb warmongering, and halt the genocide by the regime in Gaza and Lebanon.

The Foreign Minister also considered coordination among influential countries in the region, especially Iran and Turkey, essential for making decisions and taking immediate actions to stop the war machine of the Israeli regime.

The President of Turkey also highlighted Turkey’s serious determination to deepen cooperation between the two countries and expressed support for the process of expanding relations in all areas, especially economic and trade relations, and removing some existing obstacles.
