A former diplomat: The suspension of negotiations may continue for another 10 weeks

Kourosh Ahmadi, a former diplomat and senior foreign policy analyst, in an interview with ILNA about the progress of the JCPOA negotiations said

It can be said that the negotiations have been suspended. The negative reaction of the United States to Iran’s response and the lack of movement in the negotiations have left no choice but to talk about a suspension for now.

It is likely that both the lack of agreement between Tehran and Washington on several remaining issues and a series of side events, such as the US elections and even elections in Israel, have caused the situation to be suspended. This suspension could continue until mid-November, about 10 weeks from now. During this suspension period, it is unlikely that much message exchange regarding substantive issues will take place.
